How to play
Tower Director 2026
The goal
- You direct a new tower on a lot 64 columns wide, up to floor 60 and down to 4 basements. You start with ฿1,500,000.
- One week lasts 7 days (Monday to Sunday), one month 28 days. The game starts on Monday at 06:00 and ends at midnight after the last day.
- The score is the number of people in the tower at the end: workers of let offices (6 each), residents of sold condos (3), tonight's hotel guests (1–3 a room), and the staff of shops and services.
- The clock runs at the speed you pick: slow is 5 seconds a game hour, then 3 and 10 times faster. Pause whenever you like to plan and build. Quiet nights go by at the fastest speed on their own.
Controls
| Touch | Drag one finger to move around the tower, two to move and zoom · Pick a tool below, then tap where it goes (slide your finger to see the spot before letting go) · Floors and lobbies: drag along the floor · Lifts: drag up or down · With "Look", tap a room for its details |
|---|---|
| Mouse | Drag to move (the right or middle button moves with any tool), the wheel zooms · Pick a tool, then click or drag to build: a green frame fits and shows the price, a red one shows why not |
| Keys | Space or P pauses · 1 2 3 set the speed · arrows move the view · + − zoom · Delete picks the demolish tool · Esc drops the tool, closes the details or opens the menu |
Building
- Every floor is one piece and stands on the floor below (basements hang from the one above), so towers grow from the bottom up. New rooms and floor must touch what is already on that floor.
- The lobby is the way in, on floor 1, at ฿1,000 a column. No tenant comes before there is one. Lifts, stairs and shops can stand on it.
- Bare floor costs ฿300 a column: a corridor, or a wider floor to carry the floors above.
- Anything can be demolished. Within one game hour of building, the money comes back; after that it does not. Demolishing a sold condo pays the owner back.
Lifts, stairs and express lifts
- A lift costs ฿40,000 + ฿2,000 a floor and stops on every floor it spans (2 to 16 floors). It starts with one car; add up to 6 (฿20,000 each, upkeep ฿400 a car a day). A car takes 16 people.
- People pick the quickest way themselves. With several lifts going the same way they queue for the shorter line, and they change lifts on a floor where two lifts both stop.
- Stairs (฿6,000) link two floors: no waiting, but more tiring, so people climb one or two floors at most.
- Express lifts (3 stars) cost ฿150,000 + ฿4,000 a floor, run twice as fast and take 24 people, but stop only on floors with a lobby: floor 1 and the sky lobbies on floors 15, 30 and 45. People ride up and change to ordinary lifts there.
- From 06:00 to 10:00 idle cars go back to wait at the lobby.
Tenants and customers
| Office ฿40,000 | A tenant comes when people can get there from the lobby. Six people work Monday–Friday, arrive 07:00–10:00, look for a food court or restaurant in the tower at lunch (or go out), and leave 17:00–19:00. Rent ฿3,000 every workday at 17:00. |
|---|---|
| Condo ฿90,000 | Sold once for ฿150,000. Three residents go out on weekday mornings and come home 17:00–21:00; at weekends some visit the shops in the tower. |
| Hotel rooms (2 stars) | Single ฿20,000 (1 guest, ฿900 a night) · Twin ฿30,000 (2, ฿1,600) · Suite ฿80,000 (3, ฿5,000, at 3 stars) · Booked at 15:00, guests arrive 16:00–20:00 and pay at check-out 07:00–10:00; then housekeeping must clean the room. One housekeeping cleans 10 rooms a day. |
| Food court ฿50,000 | Open 10:00–20:00, ฿60 a person, busiest at lunch, 30 inside at once. |
| Restaurant ฿90,000 (2 stars) | Open 17:00–22:00, ฿150 a person, groups of 2–4 and hotel guests for dinner, 24 inside. |
| Shop ฿40,000 (2 stars) | Open 10:00–21:00, ฿100 a person, busy at weekends, 16 inside. |
| Sky deck ฿1,500,000 (5 stars) | On floor 50 or higher, open 09:00–21:00, ฿300 a person, 60 inside. |
- Shops and services have staff, who count as people, and an upkeep paid at midnight (food court ฿1,500, restaurant ฿3,000, shop ฿1,000, housekeeping ฿2,000, security ฿3,000, clinic ฿4,000, recycling ฿5,000, sky deck ฿10,000).
- Unhappy customers mean fewer customers; a full shop turns new arrivals away.
Mood
- Every trip counts the time spent waiting for lifts, climbing stairs and walking. Rooms whose people travel badly go from happy (a green lamp in the corner) to so-so (yellow) and unhappy (red).
- Office or condo tenants unhappy two nights running move out (offices only count nights after workdays); a condo that is left is paid back ฿150,000.
- A room people just left in anger is hard to let; its name recovers a little every night.
- Unhappy hotel guests mean fewer bookings; unhappy customers mean fewer customers.
Stars
| 2 stars | 120 people · unlocks hotel rooms, restaurants, shops, housekeeping, security |
|---|---|
| 3 stars | 400 people + a security office · unlocks express lifts, sky lobbies, suites, clinics, recycling |
| 4 stars | 800 people + a clinic + a recycling centre (underground) |
| 5 stars | 1,300 people + a suite + a restaurant + a sky lobby · unlocks the sky deck |
| Landmark | 1,800 people + a sky deck |
- Stars are checked at midnight, one at a time. More stars bring tenants sooner, more bookings and more customers.
The leaderboard
- Only games played to the end count; "End the game now" before time is up scores nothing.
- The game is kept in your browser every game hour: close the page and come back later (it must be finished within 2 days of starting for the score to be sent).
- When time is up, enter a name and country. The server starts the tower from the same seed, replays every command at its minute of the game and counts the people itself before the score joins the table.
- After the end, "Keep building" lets you grow the same tower on with no end and no score.
